About LMBTack
LMBTack is about more than handmade halters — it’s about top quality, intuitive craftsmanship, and empowering horse girls to dream bigger, braid better, and thrive together
It all started because I was frustrated. The crusty dusty halters I grew up with — the ones my grandpa brought home from the feed store years ago — were stiff, rough, brittle, and far from beautiful. I knew my horses deserved better. So as a teenager in 2014, already handy with loom beadwork making custom hat bands, I decided to take on and change the halter game.
By the time I graduated high school at just 17 years old, I had just made my very first muletape halter — and I fell in love with braiding. It wasn’t just fun. It was necessary. I wanted halters that were soft, durable, beautiful, and built to last for true horse girls like me.
I started sharing my creations on Facebook. Orders came fast. Friends asked, then friends of friends. By my first year in college, while others were hanging out or going out, I was in my dorm room braiding halters between studying and college rodeo. I spent four years pouring everything into this business — literally millions of feet of mule tape.
By the time I graduated with my Bachelors in Animal Science, I had been accepted into veterinary school. Everyone thought that was my next step… but deep down, I knew it wasn’t. My heart wasn’t in veterinary medicine anymore — it was in this. Halters, horses, craftsmanship, and the dream of building something bigger than just myself.
In 2021, I turned down a coveted seat into OSU Veterinary school and chose entrepreneurship. From that point forward, LMBTack became more than a business — it became my mission.
At first, I taught others to braid simply because I needed help filling orders. I was at max capacity. But over time, something changed. I fell in love with teaching. I realized how much I enjoyed guiding others to learn the LMB method and make their own way in the tack world.
In 2022, I leaned fully into coaching. I began offering programs to teach horsewomen how to braid mule tape halters with precision, confidence, and creativity — not just for fun, but for themselves, their friends, or even their own businesses.
Today, LMBTack is evolving again. I’m no longer braiding every halter myself — and that’s by design. I’m passing the torch to the incredible women I’ve trained, my Certified LMBTack Braiders, who now fulfill your orders with the same skill, heart, and care I’ve built this brand on since day one.
What started with a frustrated horse girl and a single halter has become a movement: creating top-quality handmade tack, empowering other horsewomen, and building a supportive, holistic community where the love for horses and craftsmanship come together.
Whether you’re here to order a halter, learn to braid yourself, or join our free holistic horse girl community — welcome. You’re now part of the LMB family, and I’m so glad you’re here.
A Note From Lauren
Every halter braided, every knot tied, and every horse girl I’ve coached has been part of this incredible journey. What started as my way to make something better for my own horses has grown into something much bigger — a community of horsewomen dedicated to preserving the art of handmade tack and lifting each other up along the way.
Passing the torch isn’t about letting go — it’s about letting others rise. And nothing makes me prouder than knowing that the halters you order today are made by hands that I personally trained, with the same care and love I’ve always put into my craft.
Whether you’re a lifelong supporter or brand new here — thank you for being part of this. Together, we’re keeping handmade alive and giving horse girls everywhere something to be proud of.
With gratitude and grit,
Lauren
